All new deadly sins!!

  • Environmental pollution

Hmphf. A bit more time-and-place-specific than the original Cardinal Vices, but in general I tend to support this. I mean, who needs excessive wealth? Nobody, by definition.

Morally debatable experiments

They could've phrased it better. Anything can be 'morally debatable.' 'Morally dubious' would have been a better way to put it.

I dream of one day having the power to personally inflict poverty.

Like, wow. How do you do that?

So, what exactly was wrong with Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, and Doc?

i keep wondering how long it will take the rest of the church to modernize. i keep waiting for the pope to rap his sermons with some beats in the background.

but i must say it is good to know that wearing a kilt made of bacon is still within the good graces of the church.

...as long as the bacon wasn't genetically engineered.

None of this is really new or a change of Catholic policy, but it's nice know the church is still opposed to both wealth and poverty. Most of the reports I've seen listed "Violation of fundamental rights of human nature" as 'causing social injustice.'

Fucking Christians.

The thing I find the weirdest is excessive wealth. Are we to believe that "Greed" has a cap on how much wealth it implies? To the same point, at what point is wealth excessive? One ivory back scratcher? Two?

I guess they felt the need to explain Greed to the Paris Hiltons and Donald Trumps of the world, then decided that, rather than creating a footnote, they'd just add the definition to the list.

Not that the Paris Hiltons and Donald Trumps of the world 1) read or 2) give a crap what the Catholic Church says.
