Gonna be a long hot summer
Good news everyone! My contract here got extended through the summer, so I won't need a new job until September.

Thank you thank you everyone who pitched in to get me Young Indiana Jones Chronicles DVDs! Instead of watching the new movie I can re-live 8th grade. (Between that and the new Dr. Who season, and working on TMNT, it is like 8th grade indeed!)

Today it is going to be 80 degrees, which is crazy, and means summer will be hot and dry this year. I keep forgetting that now that I'm thin hot weather is much less of a problem. None of my clothes fit anymore, it's pretty awesome.

I've been listening to Holst: The Planets while conforming storyboards. Since it's such a nice day, here is the inspiring song about Venus for your enjoyment. I hope it's not DRMed.

I love The Planets. Jupiter was the processional for Aaron's and my wedding.

(Having been a music major, I couldn't stomach the idea of using the traditional wedding march -- perfect fourth, please? Ugh.)

80 deg F means 27 deg C, it's still comfortable in my case. :)
Now 30 deg C is something else. :)

That happens to me a lot, too.

I'm only comfortable below 80... It's that Irish heritage!! I'm most comfortable in overcast, 50 degree F weather.

Oh, thank God I'm not alone. Here I was, thinking I was a freak for thinking 60°F was warm and that 50°F overcast weather was nice, not this ridiculous summer-in-spring weather (blergh). Then again, I turn bright red at the slightest hint of sunshine, so I guess I am a freak. A genetic freak.

I should be able to tan. My sisters can tan. My mother can tan. My brother can tan. I've Mohawk blood, for pity's sake. But, no, no, I must be pasty-white always. Bleh-phooie.

Thank you for the Holst, which I've downloaded and shall play on loop while I slave away at the office until a ridiculous hour of the night, by which time I'll be too scared to go out to go home because downtown Albany is fucking awful (I say this as someone who's walked the streets of the south Bronx at three in the morning).

The thing I was going to get you for your birthday is no longer available at all, as in, they're no longer making it and I can go take a flying leap, stoopid customer!, which is very frustrating.
